Serves: 4 Time: 35 minutes

Ingredients

  • 1 1/4 lb ground beef
  • 1/4 cup bread crumbs
  • 1/4 cup grated onion
  • 1 egg
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp grainy mustard
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp freshly ground pepper
  • 4 oz Brie cheese, sliced
  • 8 leaves Foxy Green or Red Leaf Lettuce
  • 4 slices prosciutto

Caramelized Onions:

  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1 large onion, sliced
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • Pinch granulated sugar

Preparation

  1. Caramelized Onions: In skillet, melt butter over medium heat; cook onion with salt and sugar, stirring often, for about 30 minutes or until golden brown.
  2. Preheat grill to medium-high heat; grease grate well. Mix together ground beef, bread crumbs, onion, egg, garlic, Worcestershire Sauce, mustard, salt and pepper.
  3. Divide beef mixture into 4 balls and shape into 1-inch thick patties. Grill for about 8 minutes per side or until grill-marked and cooked through. Top each with one-quarter of the cheese; cover and cook for 1 or 2 minutes or until cheese is melted.
  4. Top 4 of the lettuce leaves with slice of prosciutto. Top with burger and onions; sandwich with remaining lettuce leaves.
